Summer Welding Classes start June 27th and run every Wednesday to July 25th with time off for Independence Day.
Each class lasts one hour and you can choose from three different sessions: 1pm, 6pm, and 7:30pm every Wednesday. The cost is only $25 per class.
Cost includes: materials, equipment use, and supplies needed for the class.
These classes will take place at our welding shop located in Chatt*Lab Makerspace at the Business Development Center: 100 Cherokee Blvd Suite #121
June 27th - Shop Safety and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
July 11th - Introduction to Grinding and Shop Tools
July 18th - Introduction to Welding I
July 25th- Introduction to Welding II
- Learn how to weld safely
- Learn how to use a variety of power tools to get the job done
- Have fun with a fellow group of awesome folks.
- Make something cool that you can take home
After the program, the fun continues with opportunities to create and participate in local events such as: Mainx24, Chattanooga Mini Maker Faire, and at Atlanta‘s Maker Faire.
All Applicants MUST:
Be at least eighteen years old. Or twelve to eighteen years if accompanied by an adult.
Enroll by June 23rd to be included in this awesome adult class.
Complete all four classes to pass.
Be prepared to get messy. Wear old long sleeve cotton shirts, close-toed shoes, and jeans will be necessary for shop work. You are welcome to leave a change of clothes at our shop but Art 120 cannot be responsible for them.
